The surge in digital connectivity over the last decade has revolutionised our personal and professional lives.
And yet, what is the human cost of being always on?
- Do you find yourself behaving anti-socially – emailing during meals and other personal time?
- Do you feel the pressure to be accessible 24/7 and panic when detached from the ‘black mirror’?
- Has technology had the perverse effect of making your work productivity drop, causing you to feel stressed, anxious or burned out?
- Or has it enabled you to work more flexibly and build a successful business while keeping personal and professional relationships alive?
We’re delighted to be joined by writer and founder of parenting website Mother Pukka, Anna Whitehouse and Huckletree Co-Founder and CEO, Gabriela Hersham. Drawing on personal and professional experience, they’ll tackle the thorny issue of living and working in the digital world, building a business while raising a young family. Join us to hear their own insights into how to succeed – both personally and professionally.

About the speakers
A journalist, editor and mother in search of pukka things for her kid, Anna Whitehouse is the voice of those people that happen to be parents. After working as Vice Editor at Time Out Amsterdam before writing about shoes and handbags for fashion labels SuperTrash and Tommy Hilfiger, Anna recently returned to London. After looking for a change in pace and a platform on which to share parenthood trials and tribulations, Mother Pukka was born.
Gabriela Hersham founded Huckletree in 2014 to bring together London’s most innovative startups, entrepreneurs and businesses.
Four years on, Huckletree now counts three spaces in London and one in Dublin. Gabriela is passionate about supporting female entrepreneurs, and serves on the advisory board of several startups. When not at Huckletree, she can be found playing with her toddler Jack, cliff jumping and sky diving.
