The organization 100 Women in Hedge Funds is a non-profit for professionals in the investment management industry.
It was established in 2001 and incorporated in the U.S. as 100 Women in Hedge Funds Foundation and 100 Women in Hedge Funds Association, Inc. in July 2003. The foundation’s activities include educational programming and philanthropic endeavors. Activities under the association include professional leverage initiatives.
A volunteer board of directors and executive committee made up of professional women in the industry manages the day to day activities of the foundation and association. Activities are coordinated through an executive director
- In 15 locations globally: nine in the US and Canada, five in Europe, and one in Asia
- Provided more than 300 industry education sessions to over 29,000 people across the globe, including presentations by 36 industry icons and 510 industry leaders
- Established 100WHF Institute as part of our 10th Anniversary celebration to provide 100WHF members with unique educational opportunities and scholarship
100WHF has created a number of ways in which members can effectively share and “leverage” experiences, wisdom, and insight with their industry peers.
- Peer Advisory Groups enable senior members to leverage their experiences and resources
- Next Generation Dialogue provides junior members with opportunities to learn from seasoned professionals about career development
- Job Board receives thousands of hits per month, linking investment industry firms with new talent
- 100WHF Connect! is our global professional networking interface

Members should be currently involved in the alternative investment industry as either:
- a female professional in the alternative investment industry (e.g., portfolio manager, analyst, business director, institutional investor, marketing executive) or
- a female service provider to the alternative investment industry.
