‘This course was one of the most useful 2 days of my professional life, helping me bridge the massive jump from senior management to leadership’ SB, Santander UK.
The transition from management to leadership is one of the most challenging transitions we will make in our career. It requires us to move away from the ‘safe’ behaviours that have served us well throughout our careers – such as our attention to detail, our ability to get things done or our people pleasing tendencies. Instead we need to step in to something less clearly defined – because we, as leaders, need to define what it is. We need to identify the difference we want to make, to develop resilience to critical messaging (often both internal and external) and to embrace the vulnerability that trusting our intuition entails.
Brené Brown’s Daring Way™ curriculum helps us to tackle this challenge. This two day intensive and experiential course identifies what is currently keeping us playing small and offers long term strategies to support us in stepping in to our leadership.
We will specifically explore:
- The beliefs that stop us from stepping in to our leadership, our creativity and our innovation
- The behaviours that we engage in which get in the way of connection and trust building with our managers, our peers and those we manage
- The importance of vulnerability in holding a vision in the workplace
- How choosing courage over comfort will drive leadership behaviours and employee engagement
- Our professional values and purpose and how to use these to drive resilience.
- Date & Time: Thursday, 19 November 2015 at 09:00 – Friday, 20 November 2015 at 17:00
- Location: London, United Kingdom
- Price: £746.27
‘This course benefited my leadership by empowering me to be vulnerable and to break the incredible strain of trying to be perfect’. SB, Santander
‘Brené Brown’s methodology gives a creative and robust framework to work around and address powerful human emotion and issues around behaviour in relation to leadership… Rox created a completely safe space for us to support each other and feel supported, I was bowled over by her skill and sensitivity in this.’ JS, Business in the Community
The course will be facilitated by Roxanne Hobbs (CPCC, ACC, DWF). Working at Managing Partner level in the media industry, she saw for herself the challenges that women face – specifically in the step up in to leadership.
