Lace up your walking boots and join us for the ultimate ramble
Why run an ultra-marathon when you can trek one through the glorious Peak District National Park? This demanding and rewarding ultra-marathon distance trek is returning for its second year. By tackling this challenge, you’ll help more people living with a terminal illness get the care and support they need.
What can you expect on the trek?
Starting at the crack of dawn, you’ll trek over 26 miles of valleys, hamlets, woodland, lanes, dales and villages.
After an early morning team briefing, we’ll gather together for the team photo and big countdown that will see you head out onto the course to start your adventure. With guides and signs to direct you and volunteers along the course to keep you on track, you’ll meet new friends and explore new places as you navigate around the National Park.
How we’ll support you
Team Marie Curie wants you to look and feel the part when you’re exploring the great outdoors. So along with your welcome pack, which will contain lots of great fundraising advice and support, you’ll get your breathable high-tech trekking top to wear on the day.
You’ll also receive advice on the kit you’ll need to face the elements, and training advice to make sure you’re in the best shape possible to go the distance.
You can look forward to support from our team of highly trained mountain guides on the day. And in addition, our fantastic team of staff and volunteers will greet you with a warm welcome as you arrive. They’ll also celebrate your success with you as you finish your challenge, with a post-trek reception and medal for every trekker to wear with pride.
You’ll leave with stories to tell of your amazing adventure and the friends you made along the way, confident that you’ve helped Marie Curie offer vital care to people and their families living with a terminal illness.
