By popular demand, Stage & the City are recreating their Lip Sync charity number for the Stage & the City charity showcase.
Challenge yourself to this sponsored lip sync dance battle, a charity dance event to support kids with or affected by cancer. No experience necessary. You will not have to dance alone but as part of a group!
This number will take you through the music of the 60s, 70s and 80s backed by simple and fun dance routines to match the popularity of the songs most of us danced to in either one or all of those eras. From the Supremes to Lulu, from Abba to the Bee Gees, with a touch of Kylie and Bananarama and of course a little Madonna thrown into the groove.
You are guaranteed to have the audience on their feet, dancing and singing along and reliving your teen days in the discos. This number is for both guys and gals, so if you want to get into the 60’s vibe, the 70’s glam rock and disco groove and of course the Stock Aitken and Waterman 80’s invasion, then get yourselves signed up.
Stage & the City would love to see you and you will have a fantastic time and of course you will be helping to raise money for a very worthy cause. And in exchange for you helping with this cause you get three, two-hour dance workshops worth £60. Who can say fairer than that?
All participants have to raise a minimum of £50 each to take part.
Mark Short, our head of dance will choreograph this number, he is professional dancer who has been working in the industry of TV and theatre all of his adult life. Don’t worry if you have no previous dance experience, he is great at helping people, even those of you that have 2 left feet! This number is great for people who feel they can’t perform very well, because it is for charity after all! Funds raised from this event will support children affected by cancer to access the performing arts.
Stage & the City need a minimum of 20 adults to raise a minimum of £50 each. If you would like Stage & the City to help you to set up a fundraising page, they would be happy to help! We need to really spread the word about this number and we would really appreciate it if you could encourage your friends and family to take part too!
