Our packed agenda features cybersecurity specialists and practitioners, including:

Paula Jane Ridge, Group Head of Information Security and Assurance, De La Rue

Paula began her career in an HR payroll department in the civil service, before moving into IT in 1990. -In 2008, she became responsible for information security management as Head of Information Security, Hogg Robinson Travel, and in 2015 joined De La Rue as Group Head of Information Security and Assurance.

In her session, Paula will explain the business value of breaking down the silos between security and other internal functions – IT, procurement, operations and product development – as well as looking outside the organisation to build collaborative relationships with customers to manage the mutual risk of process or technology change.

John Volanthen, cave diver, volunteer rescuer, IT consultant

John runs a Bristol-based ISP, but his passion is cave exploration which has been his hobby for over 20 years. John hit the headlines in July this year, when he and his co-diver, Richard Stanton, were the first to make contact with the missing young football players and their coach in the Tham Luang caves in Thailand.

John’s keynote will not only tell the story of how the amateur divers, Thai Navy and search and rescue professionals collaborated to free the group but how in his view, the lessons in communication, simulation and escalation can be applied to incident planning and response.

Richard Watson, Futurist

Richard Watson is a writer, speaker and consultant who advises organisations on the future, focusing particularly on scenario planning and the impact of trends on long-term strategy. Futurist-in-Residence within the Foresight Practice at Imperial College London, he is the author of best-selling books Future Files, Future Minds, and Digital vs Human (2017) which explores AI and robotics.

In his keynote, Richard will explore both the potential benefits and extreme risks in advances such as Artificial Intelligence and share his thoughts on how businesses can remain resilient and agile in their thinking as we face the extreme volatility of our digital future.

Steven Bullitt, Global Vice President, Threat Intelligence & Incident Response, NTT Security

Steven began his career as a special agent with the United States Secret Service and held various supervisory roles within the Electronics Crimes Task force and the Electronic Crimes Special Agent Program. In his role at NTT Security, he is responsible for leading client-facing threat responses.

Hear Steven’s perspectives from being in both the public sector (United States Secret Service) and now private sector (NTT Security), on the ways adversaries are creating Crime as a Service (CaaS) – taking advantage of our infrastructures and people and how borderless crimes require equally borderless intelligence-based threat detection and remediation.
