Turn On – Are you the driver or the passenger on your career journey?
Lean In – Would you like to be promoted?
Opt Out – Would you like to start your own business?
Hosted by Dr Sionade Robinson, Associate Dean of MBA Programmes, this event is designed for professional women to discuss, explore and be inspired to grow as business professionals and to achieve their career ambitions.
Key Speaker
Dr Amanda Goodall, a leadership expert at Cass Business School, addresses these themes by summarising the research on women’s employment success.
Females outperform or are equal to men in many subject areas from school right through to university, but a gap in pay and position widens as the careers of men and women develop. This is bad news for women but also the economy as a whole. Amanda discusses what’s going on and why? More importantly, she outlines the ways women can ‘turn on’ and be aware of the potential hurdles they will encounter; ‘lean in’ and compete in a corporate environment; or ‘opt out’ and run their own business.
Amanda’s introductory lecture is followed by contributions from a panel of Cass alumni and then it’s over to you for questions and a stimulating discussion.
Closing the event, Sionade discusses the effect an MBA can have on defining and attaining your career ambitions.
