3 Simple and Inexpensive Ways to Get Inspired

Leanne-inspiredInspiration is important because it encourages you to think outside of your everyday train of thoughts. Inspiration can reignite passion, motivation and get you excited about a concept, idea or just life in general. It has the power to invigorate and animate you, giving you the drive to go after your goals and overcome blocks and obstacles.

Most of us operate on auto-pilot. Each week we take the same journey to work, eat the same meals, listen to the same genre of music and follow the same exercise routines (when we get a chance). Managing the demands of our day job, the household chores and maintaining some kind of social life can be overwhelming and operating on auto-pilot enables us to cope (just about).

The problem with auto-pilot is that it prevents us from fully engaging in our lives and causes feelings of discontentment, boredom and frustration. To be inspired we have to deactivate auto-pilot and start participating in life in ways that differ from our usual routine.

Ask yourself what excites you. What would you do if you had no responsibilities and all your bills were taken care of?

If you are feeling dissatisfied in your career, part of the challenge is to identify what you would like to do instead.

To have a career and life you love you need to feel inspired and to feel inspired you need to change things up. Inspiration comes when you try new things and open your mind to new ideas and concepts.

Here are 3 ways you can start to get inspired:

  1. Get creative

There are so many ways to get creative, even something as simple as changing the colour and type of font you use at work can give things a whole new perspective.

  1. Try something new

With the internet at your fingertips, there is no excuse not to try something new. There are e-books, e-courses and a plethora of Youtube videos available for pretty much anything you want to learn and a lot of it is free.

  1. Change your scenery

Take a different route to work or the supermarket, leave your desk and office for lunch, wonder around a gallery or museum or simply spend time in nature.

These are three simple and inexpensive ways to get inspired and inject some spark back into your life.
