We teamed up with BLOOM tea founder Craig Coulton to hear his eight top tips to perform better in the work place.

1) Stay Active
For a healthy mind don’t stay sitting down at your desk all day. It is important to keep your body and mind active by taking regular breaks by either walking around the office or stepping outside for some fresh air and a short walk. Stretch your body, breathe deeply and try to clear your mind so you feel refreshed when you are back at your desk.

2) Promote positivity
Every morning when coming into work, make sure you arrive with a smile. This will not only make a difference to your mood but others surrounding you. Your positivity is not just seen in your facial expressions, it can be seen in your body language and the tone of your voice. So sit up straight and smile and tell yourself ‘you are going to have a good day’.

3) Cooperation
Being a good team player in your work environment is vital. By having good working relationships will show the key skills that you need whilst trying to succeed. You will pick up good communication skills, confidence and leadership whilst working well as a team. People will start to trust your opinion more and they will believe that you will stay committed whilst working on a task/project.

4) Be professional
It doesn’t matter what job you do or what environment you are in, you should always be professional. The work place is not the time to fool around; it’s time to show your colleagues that you want to work hard and to be successful. To show you are professional make sure you are reliable, you have respect for others, are trustworthy and remain focused.

5) Take brain food
Do you want to enhance your productivity? Try blending half a teaspoon of BLOOM’s matcha each morning to help you stay calm and relaxed while maintaining better concentration. Buddhists have used it for centuries and now BLOOM’s taken their Brainboost Matcha one step further by adding
Superfood acai berry and ginkgo biloba for that extra cognitive boost.

6) Spend more time and energy on tasks that are necessary
A good tip would be making a list of all your work, and then you can see exactly what you need to accomplish in that day without storing it in your head. This can help relieve work pressure and a manageable way to get things ticked off your list. It’s important to space out your work schedule and to ensure you are putting more energy into tasks that you believe are a priority.

7) Protein boosted breakfast
Every morning when you wake up make sure you have a healthy breakfast. If you haven’t had a long nights sleep or you had a very busy day at work the day before, you might be low on energy when you wake up. Steer clear of coffee and sugary drinks and try giving yourself a protein boosted breakfast for a natural energy boost.

8) De-Stress
Everyone gets stressed a work, especially if you have an upcoming deadline that you need to finish quickly. Lowering your stress levels will help you concentrate and work effectively. Manage yourself by regularly taking a step back and thinking about what’s important and achievable within the time allocated and set goals to stay on track. There’s no magic bullet for staying ahead of the game, but simple steps such as early nights, healthy meals and exercise can go a long way to helping you achieve a balanced and happy lifestyle.
