Inspirational Woman: Abigail Disney | Filmmaker & philanthropist: far from fantasy land

U.S. film-maker and activist Abigail Disney declared,

“We need to create a groundswell of commitment to real change. There must be a surge of new momentum for women’s rights world-wide.”

IMG_8118Disney, whose keynote focused on the resilience and courage of women in conflict zones, said that backlash against women’s progress in many regions deserves far more attention.

“We can be proud that women in many countries have moved forward in business and many other sectors of society,” she noted. “But that’s not true everywhere. It’s time for us to deploy our activism, energy and financial support in the cause of global women’s rights.”
