Supporting Associates, VPs and Directors in the execution of Leveraged Buy-outs in the UK, Scandinavia and the Netherlands.

  • Providing a consistently high standard of work in a timely manner and ensuring compliance with SG’s credit and compliance rules.
  • Principal duties involve the preparation of financial models, reviewing of due diligence and preparation of credit papers.
  • Assisting Middle Office with the preparation and checking of portfolio reviews and waiver requests for allocated portfolio companies.

Assistance in raising the profile and league table position of SG’s Leveraged and non-investment grade financing business.
Required skill-set:

  • Excellent English language skills (written and spoken)
  • Sound understanding and ability to analyse key accounting statements: P&L, BS, CF statement, etc.
  • Excellent modeling skills with a good foundation of credit analysis skills or proven ability to learn
  • Some form of mathematical background
  • Min. B.Sc / B.A equivalent qualifications from a top European university
  • Very comfortable with all Microsoft applications (particularly Excel)
  • Willingness to remain at Analyst level for 2-3 years

Bonus skill-set :

  • Leveraged finance exposure from competing institution (HSBC, Lloyds, ING, CaCIB, JPM, RBS, GS, MS, GE, BOI, Barclays)
  • 2.1 or First class degree result
  • Some High Yield knowledge
  • Advanced mathematical skills
  • M.Sc. / M.A.
  • Professional Qualifications (ACT, CFA etc)
  • Familiarity with SG systems / processes
  • Other language skills (this team also covers The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Sweden)

Main competencies (technical and behavioural) necessary in the employee’s position:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Base knowledge of credit analysis, structuring and financing products used in LBO finance
  • Excellent financial modelling skills
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under time pressure
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and to communicate articulately with colleagues and clients
