A dedicated craft cocktail room in Omaha’s Historic Old Market.
Hidden behind a fairly nondescript and vaguely insalubrious shop front on Berry Street – no signage, just a slightly battered black door – you’ll find one of the city’s hippest new bars. Inside you’ll find a speakeasy style space, tucked theatrically behind black curtains, a space of bare brick, dark leather, and old wood, with an abundance of exposed pipework and an array of half-burnt candles guttering in old bottles. There’s an old piano in one corner and a fireplace in the other. This place wins big in terms of atmosphere.
Whisky is a big deal here – they have a fairly epic collection. On the cocktail front, these guys know what they’re doing. They make a top notch French 75 with Beefeater 24 gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, and spumante (one of our favourites, gin and fizz in the same glass), a brilliant Bloody Mary and some cracking house cocktails, including The Merchant, a blend of brandy El Dorado 15yr rum, Cockburns Ruby Port, syrup and bitters. Blues plays in the background and the whole place has an effortlessly cool vibe.
