In 2008, after more than a decade of working in the City, Louisa Barnett, the founder of Butterfly, realised there was an opportunity for something she had sought for years: a place to go to be revived and transformed from everyday ordinariness to chic elegance. She knew it was something other working women were seeking too. Her research showed the idea had enormous potential and a market. Butterfly opened towards the end of 2009 and has been a hit from the start.

The name encompasses the concept of transformation: the chrysalis that emerges as a beautiful butterfly. The treatments are fast and affordable with two hair & make-up artists from the world of film, fashion, theatre and TV working on a client at the same time.

Together with a fabulous, discreet changing space, phone chargers, newspapers, herbal teas and essential handbag supplies, Butterfly provides a calm environment to read a brief ahead of a meeting, catch up on The Economist, freshen-up after a gym workout, recharge batteries (personally and literally) and emerge transformed.
