The Women of the Future (“WOF”) Awards 2015 is celebrating young female talent for the 10th year.
The WOF Awards were founded by Pinky Lilani CBE DL in 2006 to celebrate the achievements of the UK’s pipeline of female talent across business, media, culture, sport, and public service. With Cherie Blair as their patron, the Awards also recognise contributions of individual mentors (male or female, of any age) and the organisations that support young female talent.
Winner of the Entrepreneur Award in 2010, Thea Green, Founder, Nails inc, said: “Winning an award at the Women of the Future Awards was a career highlight for me. I’m hugely passionate about Nails inc, the business I started in 1999, and this award was an important milestone. Programmes like this are key in providing many talented women in Britain with a platform to share their successes and experiences. Being able to connect with such a diverse community of brilliant women continues to be immensely inspirational. I hope the Women of the Future Awards continue for many years to come.”
Each year, both Award winners, and those shortlisted, are embraced into the wider WOF community and programme of events and projects, all of which support young women. These include the WOF Summit, WOF Ambassadors and WOF Network, with the overall focus of WOF being ‘collaboration in leadership’: encouraging influential women to work together to support the new generation of talent across sectors.
Women of the Future founder, Pinky Lilani CBE DL, reflects on the progress: “the Awards have come so far over the past decade and I could not be prouder of our network of incredible winners and shortlisted women. Every year I am overwhelmed by the calibre of nominations for the Awards and really relish hearing each individual’s story and about the incredible work they are doing.”
2015 marks the 10th year of Women of the Future, and it is marking this special landmark with a full week of activities, welcoming an international group of speakers and delegates to meet and exchange ideas. The Awards evening will take place at Hilton, Park Lane on Tuesday 27 October, following the Summit, which takes place during the day.
