Join the #wallofsilence and highlight the silence that still surrounds the subject of domestic violence.
WeAreTheCity are calling all tweeters and members to take a Shhh selfie and post it to stand against domestic violence and support Refuge.
The Wall of Silence campaign is about everyone coming together and taking a stand not only against domestic violence but the fact we are not talking enough about the crime that kills two women in the UK every week.
Simply take a ‘shhh’ selfie and post on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #wallofsilence and for every selfie posted Avon is donating £1 to Refuge and Women’s Aid. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #wallofsilence so Avon can register your selfie.
Don’t have a Twitter or Instagram account? Don’t worry, you can still post your selfie directly on the Avon website.
The Wall of Silence idea was the brainchild by Charli Bailey – herself a survivor – who won a competition to design a digital promotion for Avon’s ‘Speak Out Against Domestic Violence’ campaign. The campaign has been a real success so far, with celebs Susan Boyle, Ferne Cotton and Caroline Flack all getting involved. Check out the ever-growing #wallofsilence
Join the #wallofsilence. It will only take you one minute, it will raise £1 and if lots of us do it that could make a huge difference and save lives.
