SPE Women in Energy
Description
Women account for half of the world’s working-age population, so gender inequality is not only a pressing moral and social issue but also an economic challenge.
After decades of progress towards equal social and economic opportunities for women, the gender gap remains large, especially in the energy sector.
SPE Women in Energy is a subcommittee of the SPE London Board run by volunteers that has the objective of promoting gender balance in the energy sector.
The subcommittee organises several networking events throughout the year and an annual seminar where leaders of the industry get together to discuss how to achieve gender balance at corporate level, starting within the personal sphere of influence.
