Then why not allow yourself to Ask, Believe and Receive!
Week 2 – BELIEVE
Hello again and welcome to the January blog on Ask, Believe and Receive.
As a quick reminder……….
So as a woman you are expected to be a wife, lover, mother, housekeeper, business-woman and not forgetting looking after yourself and looking fabulous but most of us feel we have to do it all ourselves so now I’m simply going to suggest you take on a different viewpoint and ASK, BELIEVE and RECEIVE. This week we will look at how we need to Believe .
If you are at home I like to ask you to click on the YouTube link below, turn the volume up, jump up and have a dance…… yes dance!!!! I love this song and it is a great reminder to ‘Don’t stop believing’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIoSTbPt_PI .
Walt Disney said
‘When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable’.
Allow yourself to be that child and teenager again – Walt believed in his project Disney World and his spirit lives on today over 50 years after the first resort was developed. By simply believing in yourself and allowing some downtime you will be surprised at what inspires you. Share your thoughts and ideas with your husband/partner/friends. You need to see the vision, believe the vision and allow yourself to feel the vision. It is very empowering.
Well we all know the saying ‘if you don’t ask you don’t get’ but actually you also need to ‘believe in yourself’. Most women tend to second guess themselves, always feel they need to be 150% there for a new role or position in the business, or running a new project, or even chairing a meeting but why not try some role play with one of your colleagues, and if need be find a mentor to help point you in the right direction.
Women are better organised, great nurturers and much more intuitive than men but allow yourself to recognise the next time that you stop yourself from moving forward, from answering that question that someone else did, the project that you decided not to head up. Step back and start believing in yourself because the only one stopping you is you!
Most men only believe 50% that they can do it but the difference is they just get on with it. Take a leaf out of the men’s book and go for it, after all what have you got to lose. You never know it might just be the next big step you needed.
January is generally a time of the year when people complete a personal review. Reflect back on the last year, family, old friends, holidays, what they achieved and what their goals where for the year and most importantly did they achieve them.
As Daniel Burnham said
‘Make no little plans; they have no magic……… Make big plan, aim high I hope and work’.
I truly believe that 2013 is going to be a magical year for mankind, the world and in fact the universe as we know it but it is always important to remember to take baby steps to get things done. People get delusional with big dreams and forget to take the small steps; from time to time you can make a massive leap but do plan well. I still want you to dream big but just take one step at a time. Don’t forgot to allow yourself the downtime to let the new ideas come in and don’t fill your diary otherwise you will not make space for the really inspirational people to come along and truly help you step up to another level.
As Rhonda Byrne said ‘Ask once, believe you have received, and all you have to do to receive is feel good.’
I will leave you with the thought that you can create the vision of your life by simply allowing yourself to believe that in your innermost heart you must believe that you can succeed where others have failed. Surprise yourself and aim high!
