The Pure Package and Balance Box revolve around helping clients achieve their health goals as simply as they can. They offer a very high-end diet delivered direct to your door with zero compromise on taste and flavour. These perfectly balanced, uniquely tailored meals have helped thousands of clients get in shape.

“My love for food started at an early age, I grew up on a self-sufficient farm in West Cork, Ireland. My first entrepreneurial venture saw me collecting eggs from the farm’s chickens and selling them to local restaurants at just eight years old. By the time I was a teenager I had a street traders license selling goods at markets!

I went onto read an Honours Degree in Food Marketing Economics at the University of Reading. From here, I helped develop several businesses in the industry whilst enhancing my own experience. I have worked for Neal’s Yard Dairy, Deals Restaurant Group and Conran Group to name a few. I truly believe that working for others before starting your own business is a good idea, it gives you the chance to see good management and bad management firsthand. Working for someone else means you can learn and make your own mistakes before you start your own business!

When I came up with the idea for the business, I wanted to provide a service which delivers healthy food which people will look forward to. I began researching and experimenting from my kitchen. The company has grown very much on demand. I wanted to create a cash flow positive business, and this is what I did! I started small at home without any bank loans or outside investors, offering 10-day subscriptions which then turned to 90 days and the business has grown organically without any outside funding into a multi-million-pound business.

So many entrepreneurs lose focus on their customers and the customer experience. They get caught up in paperwork and the overall financing of the business rather than the people. I am excited to see how the business will continue to expand, our aim is to have even more happy healthy customers who we can help reach their health goals. Since launching Balance Box, we are helping twice as many people as before which is fantastic!

In 2016, I decided to create The Pure Package Wellness Awards, to honour and celebrate the stars of the British health and wellness industry. I noticed a gap in the awards sector for an event that focused solely on celebrating the wellness industry. The second annual awards ceremony took place earlier this year at BAFTA and was attended by a number of influential guests and celebrities, as well as the prestigious judging panel. With these awards I want to identify the truly outstanding businesses that I would not only use myself, but also recommend to clients.

As a busy mother to four girls, balance is a mantra I apply not only to my food and business but to my lifestyle too. I love nothing more than planting, nurturing and harvesting food for the family to enjoy at home, we also keep chickens and bees for fresh eggs and honey.”
