How to keep your vagina healthy, balanced and free of infection

Thrush, bacterial vaginosis, pelvic inflammatory disease and miscarriage are just a few common experiences linked to the disruption of normal vaginal flora; the microorganisms that live in our vagina and are thought to be the first line of defence against infection.

So, how does it get disrupted, and is there anything we can do to maintain this balance, avoid infection and ensure our vagina is as healthy as it can be?

In the 30-minute session, our expert, Mr Ellis Downes, will cover:

• what makes up the microbiome

• why it’s important

• what throws it off

• how do you know if you have a healthy microbiome?

• recurrent infections and how to prevent them

• how to maintain a healthy vagina
