Plans for half term? Bored teenagers on your hands who think they’re funnier than you?

We’ve launched a unique half term activity for young people aged 11 to 16 designed to keep them occupied for at least an hour every day for a week. This course is a fun, safe, immersive online experience to build their confidence, explore creativity and help them perform.

They will learn about creating characters, improvisation, musical comedy and come away with some invaluable performance skills. They may even be funnier than you!

Facilitated by four of the industry’s experts in comedy and performance, this course provides tailored tips and advice to help the next generation of comedy performers and writers communicate more freely by creating content with their peers.

Sally Holloway is the author of The Serious Guide to Joke Writing and in the eleven years she was on the comedy circuit, Sally was one of Britain’s top female comics. Sally will be using these skills to teach how to write innovative jokes.

Ali H from the Short and Girlie Show will be bringing games, improvisation and fun fun fun! The Short and Girlie Show are regulars on the LGBT scene, this multi-award winning troupe of women perform a variety of comedy styles for enjoyment by a mixed audience.

Jill Coombs is an actress, presenter and teacher. She has been teaching drama to all ages, globally for over 20 years and is an expert in her field. Jill will walk you through the physicalities of performance whilst building your confidence skills.

Katie Pritchard is an award-winning comedian, West End & TV Actor, Musician in Award-Winning Rock’n’Roll Band ‘The Daisy Chains’, Writer, and Illustrator. Katie will be tickling your chuckle muscles with her brilliantly funny and comedy provoking workshop.

Workshops will be held on Zoom, 11.00am – 12.00 noon, from Monday 26th to Thursday 29th October. The week culminates in a live online showcase split into two parts with an hour interval on Friday 30th 10.00am – 11.00am and 12 noon – 1.00pm. Please allow time for this – you will receive invaluable feedback on your performance.
