Event Details

In Nepal, age can determine opportunities to lead, speak out and have your opinions respected. Women and girls under 30 often have little power over the decisions that affect them most.

Through dedicated feminist workshops, Womankind partner LOOM Nepal builds space for women activists of all ages to come together, share and organise. As workshop participant, Manju Karki, (age 20) explains, activism is blossoming as a result of these workshops:

“I think I am more confident and have a positive attitude than before. I also realised that I can inspire many women like me to resolve their problems, and if I worked hard, then I can achieve a lot and bring positive change in my life.”

We are delighted that Jyotsna Maskay, Executive Chairperson at LOOM, will be joining Womankind in a conversation with Dinah Musindarwezo, our Director of Policy and Communications, to discuss their intergenerational feminism projects (supported by Womankind).

This event falls alongside Bi-Visibility Day 2020 and Jyotsna will highlight how the workshops have had a specific impact on the LBTQI+ community in Nepal.

We are encouraging attendees to take part in the conversation with time for a Q&A.

We look forward to you joining us to hear Jyotsna’s unique insights into this often hidden area of work.
