The COVID-19 pandemic has left many expectant mums and those who have recently had a baby feeling isolated and sometimes uncertain about the months ahead.
Join our expert, Dr Roch Cantwell, consultant perinatal psychiatrist and mum-of-three Luisa Zissman to talk about maternal mental health.
Together Dr Cantwell and Luisa will talk about maternal mental health from the clinical and personal perspectives.
Dr Cantwell will cover why pregnancy and the postnatal period is an important time for maintaining good mental health; what particular types of mental illness can affect women at this time; the specific risk that certain women might face and the ways we can lower risk; treatments available, when he will address concerns around medicines in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Luisa, who many will know from The Apprentice where she narrowly missed out in the final, will share her own experiences of postnatal depression. Most recently Luisa has also taken part in a charity horse race, The Magnolia Cup at Goodwood raising thousands of pounds for Wellbeing of Women’s research.
If you have a question for Dr Cantwell email to [email protected] – he’ll be answering as many questions as he can on the day.
