Go Red this September for Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month

Go RED Dress Down

Women’s cancer research charity, The Eve Appeal, has launched a brand new campaign called Go Red which will run throughout Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month in September.

The Eve Appeal wants to bring gynaecological health to the forefront of people’s minds using the simple fact that people tend to Go Red when they are embarrassed about something. Saying the word vagina is not brave, it is normal. Having a period is not embarrassing, it is normal. By supporting Go Red you can help to challenge the stigma, break the taboos and educate women and men so that they understand the key signs and symptoms and feel comfortable having open and honest conversations – all whilst raising funds for The Eve Appeal’s work and ground-breaking research.

Get involved and hold your own Go Red day at work, home, school or in your local community. All you have to do is pick a date and encourage everyone to wear something Red for a donation. This could be a red hat, red wig, red pair of tights or why not see if you can go top-to-toe in red?

Register now for your free fundraising pack by visiting www.eveappeal.org.uk/GoRed or by calling the Eve Team on 020 7605 0109.

There are five types of gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal – and every day in the UK 58 women are diagnosed with one of these cancers and 21 women will die.

The Eve Appeal is determined to change these shocking statistics and by taking part in Go Red you can help them to protect the mothers, daughters, sisters, wives and partners of the future from these cancers.

If you have any questions on how to get involved or if you would like further information please do not hesitate contact #TeamEve by emailing [email protected] or by calling 020 7605 0109.
