Hilary Duff’s inspirational words on body shaming go viral: “Be proud of your flaws”

Hilary Duff
Actress Hilary Duff has posted a statement about body shaming after receiving hateful comments about her ‘flaws’.

The star of TV’s ‘Younger’ took to the social media platform Instagram to address the body shaming women experience on a daily basis.

Since it was posted, the image of Duff has been liked over a million times, with an equal amount of shares on social media.

The 29-year-old mother to Luca published the image to Instagram when vacationing with her son.

“I am posting this on behalf of young girls, women and mothers of all ages,” Duff wrote.

“I’m enjoying a vacation with my son after a long season of shooting and being away from him for weeks at a time over those months.”

“Since websites and magazines love to share ‘celeb flaws’ — well I have them!”

“I’m turning 30 in September and my body is healthy and gets me where I need to go,” Duff continued.

“Ladies, lets be proud of what we’ve got and stop wasting precious time in the day wishing we were different, better and unflawed.”

“You guys (you know who you are!) already know how to ruin a good time, and now you are body shamers as well.”

Duff ended the post with the hashtag, #KissMyAss.

The actress was referring to the proliferation of “celeb flaws” in tabloids, including the photograph taken by paparazzi showing Duff at the beach in swimwear.

Duff has been open in the past regarding her struggles with weight in the public eye. In 2015 she admitted that she was once “obsessed” with her weight.

Many have commented on the post, praising Duff for being open about the body shaming women receive.

“As a 26 yr old mother of 2 I appreciate this message so much. Thank you,” someone wrote.

“Your post is a reminder that all bodies are beautiful bodies, no matter your age or celebrity status.”, wrote another.
