Edinburgh Zoo

Edinburgh Zoo is the largest and most famous zoo in Scotland, mainly due to its star attraction: pandas. In 2011, two giant pandas were leased by the zoo from China, and they’ve now become so popular you’ll see them on bags, T-shirts and mugs. They can often be seen but even if they’re feeling a bit shy when you go, there are plenty of other animals to keep you and the kids happy. The penguins are incredibly popular, along with the koalas, so book your trip today to give the family a real treat.

A trip to Harry Potter World

This is one for kids and big kids alike. If you love a bit of Harry Potter, then you have to take a trip to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour near Watford. Not only can you wander the sets where they made the most popular film franchise of all time at Harry Potter World, but you can also marvel at the incredible 360 degree scale model of Hogwarts Castle, a work of art in itself. It was crafted by 86 artists and crew members and took over 74 years of man hours to build.

York Dungeon

The York Dungeon is a 70-minute journey into more than 2,000 years of York’s horrible history. The Dungeon brings together an amazing cast of theatrical actors, special effects, stages and scenes in a truly unique and exciting walk-through experience that you see, hear, touch, smell and feel. It’s hilarious fun and it’s sometimes pretty damn scary.

Bristol Science Centre

With hundreds of hands-on exhibits to explore, live shows and a Planetarium, the Bristol Science Centre At-Bristol, is one of the UK’s biggest and most exciting interactive science centres. Voted Visitor Attraction of the Year 2011 by Visit Bristol, the centre has also been listed one of VisitBritain’s top 10 family attractions, and is one of The Guardian’s top 20 family-friendly museums in the UK.
