Imperial

Imperial CitySituated in the undercroft of the Royal Exchange building in the City of London, Imperial City is not simply a restaurant serving the best mouth-watering Oriental cuisine available, but providing its diners with a completely authentic Oriental experience.

The entrance is full of Oriental influences and as you go down the stairs, the beautiful interior is revealed.

Exposed original brick work combines well with dark woods and Oriental grilles to enhance the intimate environment.

Imperial CityThere are a couple of interesting features which make this restaurant stand out from the crowd. An interesting water feature acts as a main centre-piece in the dining area, which thanks to some mood lighting, gives a strong effect.

In the private dining room there is an authentic and highly valuable Chinese emperor’s robe which hangs proudly from the wall.

Imperial City’s groundbreaking menu complements the restaurant’s decadent and boudoir-style surroundings.

Clever flavouring and only the freshest ingredients are used to create dishes which are distinctive and satisfying, from fresh lobster with ginger and spring onions to sizzling fillet of beef in Cantonese style.

Desserts are mostly east/west crossovers such as tapioca rice pudding with passion fruit sorbet and caramelised pop corn and coconut pane cotta, Imperial lotus pancakes or a refreshing, palate-cleansing sorbet.

A specially selected wine and drink list to complement the unique food flavours is available in both the bar and restaurant.
