Institutional and Corporate Technology (ICT) is one of five divisions within Technology & Data. We face off to the business and support services to develop and oversee the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the enterprise. Our clients include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Global Capital Markets, Operations, Finance, and Legal & Compliance. We are responsible for Pioneer and Application Infrastructure, groups that look to develop foundational strategies, tools and technologies that are leveraged across Tech & Data, as well as standardized data and enterprise-wide services to provide leverage to the Firm’s businesses.
The role is for a Business Analyst and Project Manager in the Equity Derivatives and Swaps Risk systems practice area, which builds the platform used by Morgan Stanley’s world class Institutional Equities businesses globally to manage intraday and end-of-day risk and P&L. The businesses include Cash Equities, Convertibles, Flow and Exotic Derivatives, and Swaps / Prime Brokerage
You will be part of an exciting new business analysis function within the Risk practice area, responsible for gathering business requirements, performing analysis and working with the IT development teams to coordinate the end to end delivery of the solution. The projects are focused on building new capabilities in trading risk and P&L including the support of new products and risk/P&L measures, and they have a diverse set of stakeholders including Trading, Risk Management and Finance.
Excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication, and organisational skills are essential, as well as an ability to solve complex problems in a numerical/analytical environment.
- Minimum 2.1 (or equivalent) Bachelor’s degree from a leading University in a numerate/analytical discipline e.g. Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Computer Science.
- Relevant in-depth experience in a derivatives (ideally equity derivatives) front-office facing area e.g. Front Office IT, Middle Office, Desk Controllers, ideally with proven project experience . You should have detailed knowledge of derivative products, market data (forwards, vols, correlations), trading risk management and P&L.
- Complete familiarity with MS Office, especially MS Excel, MS Visio is assumed. Evidence of technical skills should include SQL and/or Q(KDB).
