Catherine Spencer, former Women’s England Rugby Captain turned adventurer and entrepreneur is asking you to “Step out of your comfort zone and your daily routines to experience something so new and exciting that you can hardly imagine”.
Catherine is leading ‘Team Snow Leopard’ on the Endure 6 Skeleton Coast Expedition this November, to trek 150km unsupported from the hinterland across the Namib Desert to the Skeleton Coast over ten days in support of The Endure Foundation and its six charity partners – Blue Ventures, David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, O2 Think Big, Oxfam, Renewable World, Walking with the Wounded.
The aim of this expedition is to raise awareness and help stop the illegal trade of wild animals in partnership with the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.
Due to poaching, habitat degradation and retaliation killings there are between 3,500 and 6,500 snow leopards left in the wild. Catherine is looking for people with the power and passion to join Team Snow Leopard and take on this expedition to help stop the illegal trade of this beautiful and illusive, yet endangered animal.
As well as the opportunity to experience the unique terrain, culture and wildlife of the Namib desert and Skeleton Coast this expedition also offers the opportunity to develop your own leadership and communication skills which you can take back into everyday life and the work place, Catherine said “To work as part of a team capable of preparing, planning and leading this desert expedition offers transferable skills which can be taken straight back to the boardroom. For me it’s about teamwork, overcoming challenges in the face of adversity and going that extra mile when the tank is empty.”
