Looking after your voice

With the changeable weather and changing of the seasons, what better than to podcast about looking after your voice.

Going from hot weather, to cool damp windy weather; an air conditioned room to a warmer temperature outside, could result in a cough or cold – risking strain on your voice. Add in high pollen counts, and this could be an additional risk to your voice short term.

In the latest Superstar Communicator Podcast I share top tips to avoiding damage to your voice when you have a cold or cough.

Listen here.

My top tips include:

  1. Avoiding using your voice when your voice is ‘husky’ or tired.
  2. Being aware of when your voice is tired and when to stop using it.
  3. Ensuring you are hydrated.
  4. The specific challenge of ‘Acid Reflux’ if you voice is husky in the morning and how to minimise the symptoms on your voice.
  5. Avoiding straining your voice through shouting.

My audio training course “Make an Impact with your Voice” is a very cost effective training option if you are wishing to improve your speaking skills.

We only have one voice, and we need to look after it. By looking after your voice, you will feel more confident when you speak and others will be more likely you will be listened to.
