A vast number of companies, especially recruitment companies, claim they are ‘people businesses’. So why do so many wrap up their offering in jargon where employees are ‘assets’, candidates are ‘talent’ and a set of interviews is a ‘recruitment solution’?
No, we don’t know either. (Although we suspect it’s because if you strip away the jargon, a lot of firms don’t really have that much to offer beyond their database and a lacklustre trawl through online jobs boards.)
