Members discount: French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and German classes begin January 26th 2015

Whether you are sipping a kir in a Parisian bar, dancing the tango on an Argentianian dance floor, or savouring a bowl of spaghetti in a restaurant in Bologna, it always helps to know a some of the local language. And those of you with more advanced skills in the language may enjoy the chance to read newspapers, discuss world events and listen to radio and television extracts.

A series of language courses will be running from Monday 26 January 2015 to Thursday April 2 for ten weeks. The Tuesday classes will be held at Silk Street near Barbican and the Thursdays classes at More London (near London Bridge). Courses are open to beginners, intermediate and advanced speakers of French, Spanish and Italian as well as beginner and intermediate students of Portuguese and German.

The price for WeAreTheCity members is £150, normally £170 for the general public.

Students come from City firms including Norton Rose Fulbright, Addleshaw Goddards, Linklaters, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the Bank of England and Ernst and Young.

The friendly and relaxed classes include French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and German, from beginner through to advanced level for French, Spanish, and Italian, and beginner and intermediate level for Portuguese and German.

The Teacher

Susan has an M.A from Oxford and has been running courses in the City for the past twenty five years. Clients include students from Norton Rose, Linklaters, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Herbert Smith, Addleshaw Goddards, Slaughter and May, Lawrence Graham, the GLA and the Bank of England . Susan fell into teaching languages in the City, over twenty-five years ago, and has been hooked by the buzz of teaching brilliant people ever since. She loves discussing everything from how to chat someone up in a foreign language, to analysing world news. After leaving Oxford she was asked to tutor a group of stockbrokers in French, the brokers became avid students, and all their friends wanted to join the party too. Susan decided that the City was the place to be, and has stayed there ever since.
