The Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Foundation and Black Cultural Archives launch Scholarship

Miranda-Brawn_Headshot_Curly_Black-764x1024The Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Foundation and the Black Cultural Archives have announced that applications are open for the Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Scholarship.

The Scholarship will be running in 60 cities across Britain, with the aim of helping the next generation of BAME future leaders build and lead successful careers. Scholarship recipients will be chosen annually based on their academic performance and interest in diversity.

The Scholarship Committee will choose the finalists who will be invited for an interview in September 2016. The first set of scholarships will be awarded during the Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Annual Lecture.

The lecture aims to raise the awareness of racial diversity and equality with the next generation of BAME future leaders. It will also celebrate the excellent and inspiring achievements of our next generation of Black, Asian, and minority ethnic (BAME) leaders from across the UK.

 Dame Jocelyn Barrow DBE will deliver a keynote address, followed by a lecture by Miranda Brawn at the launch of the Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Annual Lecture. This will be held on the 15 October 2016 at The University of Law, London.

The Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Scholarship includes £1,000 funding, work experience, CV advice, mentoring and VIP access to the “Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Annual Lecture.”

Miranda Brawn, Founder of the Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Foundation and Vice Chair of the Black Cultural Archives said: “This initiative will recognise and encourage our next generation of BAME leaders while providing them with the right support in their quest for future success.”

The application process is now open and will close on 2 September 2016 and will need to be available for interviews in September.

  • Funke Abimbola (General Counsel & Company Secretary, Roche Products Limited)
  • Jessica Huie MBE (Founder of Color Blind Cards and JH Public Relations)
  • Lauren Riley (Founder & CEO of The Link App and Ex-BBC Apprentice 2015)
