Miss Bouquet – then and now

Where did I think I’d be when I reached the age of 33?

miss bouquetWhen I was in my twenties I set a goal to own my own house by 30. Running two years behind schedule at 32 it finally happened. Marriage was neither on the list nor off it, but here I am 9 months in as a wife. At uni I studied international business and French and always pictured myself living aboard. I lived in Paris for a year and took a round the world trip of a lifetime but have now lived in London for 10, and here I feel at home.

My Dad tells a story of a 17 year old me that declared a future driving around vineyards in a soft-top tasting my way around France. Apparently I also told him one day I’d buy him a Bentley….. As I sit in BA Business on a flight to a wine tasting trip in the Loire Valley I realise that I am, at least, part of the way there.

I work for a London based wine importer and can taste anything from 20 to 120 wines a week.

I’ve been working with wine since I graduated 12 years ago and have a day job that merges two passions: wine and marketing. I work for a London based wine importer and can taste anything from 20 to 120 wines a week. My days are comfortably peppered with wine tastings, office stuff and wine related travel. I also lead a parallel life as a wine blogger which is where work and pleasure combine in perfect harmony and is why I am flying 30,000 feet as I type, on my way to the sunny Loire.
