Association of Asian Women Lawyers

The Association of Asian Women Lawyers (“AAWL”) was set up in 2001. Membership spans from Judges, QC’s, Barristers, Solicitors, Legal Executives to Trainees, Pupils and University Students. AAWL is a non profit making organisation.

Aims and Objectives:

– to promote equality and diversity in the legal profession

– to encourage new entrants into the legal profession drawn from all social backgrounds

– to offer advice, guidance and assistance to those wishing to embark upon a legal career and/or to further their legal career through a mentoring scheme

– to hold regular seminars and social functions to facilitate opportunities to network and draw upon the knowledge of experienced practitioners, Judge’s and QC’s

 

AAWL membership includes:

– advance notice and invitation to all our events

– reduced rates to our educational seminars

– the chance to benefit from our mentoring scheme

– the chance to undertake pro bono work with our linked voluntary organisations

– being able to assist with the work of the AAWL committee

– access to our legal news and discussions

Membership is open to anyone in the legal profession or those with an interest in pursuing our aim of promoting Asian women in the law.
