A technical lead role involved in leading teams of developers in architecting and developing projects using predominantly Microsoft .NET and SQL Server technologies.
Contributing to improving Lloyd’s strategic architecture goals and development engineering practices.
Responsible for driving developers forward into areas of automated test-driven development, and continuous delivery to improve value proposition to business customers.
What Will You Do?
*Drive the adoption of test-driven and behaviour-driven development frameworks, along with continuous delivery and automation testing.
*Identify candidates and opportunities for change and takes responsibility for driving change forward, seeing change as an opportunity for improvement.
*Foster an environment of collaboration, motivating staff to share ideas, information, experience, to enhance cross-discipline communication and interaction.
*Responsible for developing team members’ technical skills, as well as the way they work, including behaviour, attitude and confidence.
*To provide leadership on development projects serving as an interface between the developers and management and have supervisory responsibilities in delegating work to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
*Be responsible for the software development approach and underlying architecture of each project being worked on, overseeing the work done by others developers within that team.
*Take a hands-on development role on projects; designing, coding, testing and implementing new functionality embracing a continuous delivery mind-set. Conduct and promote the use of peer reviews to provide feedback to developers within the team.
*Lead and provide technical mentoring to other members of the application development team. Ensure the quality of code is met through the use of unit, integration and acceptance testing and perform appropriate tuning/refactoring to ensure the system performs to its specification.
*Maintain familiarity and continue to learn a wide range of relevant and suitable application development tools and techniques. Use this knowledge to advise the Corporation on current and future trends and anticipate changes in the direction that ITG should take on.
*Pro-actively seek opportunities within the Corporation to improve and enhance the efficiency of the organisation through innovative and improved approaches to software development.
*Drive a commitment to high quality and standards by ensuring agreed standard and practices are consistently followed across all work streams.
*Work with team members to evolve the existing framework, updating/adapting existing standards and identifying new ones as appropriate
What You’ll Need
*Proven experience of unit / integration (TDD/BDD) and automation testing (ATDD) frameworks (e.g. NUnit, MSTest, SpecFlow).
*Extensive experience in Business Intelligence and Data Management.
*Proficientin Microsoft tools: SQL Server 2005/2008/2012, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
*Substantial proven experience in developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions involving Data Warehouse, Data Marts.
*Proven experience of working with SCRUM “” Agile development methodology.
*Proven experience in other areas of SQL Server development technology including stored procedures, functions and triggers as well as clustering and T-SQL.
*Proven experience of developing data-centric systems in a structured way using Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) software (preferably TFS/Visual Studio/SSDT.
*Knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server for source control.
*Experience in C#, .NET 4.0+, Visual Studio.NET 2010+, ASP.NET MVC 4.0+.
*Experience working within an Agile team practicing the Scrum process, as well as experience in Kanban.
*Experience working in, and ideally implementing, a Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery system.
*Commands a passion for Quality and the ability to challenge assumptions
*Developing software using test driven development methodologies.
*A track record of working on complex large scale web and database development projects.
*Excellent communication skills are a must as is the ability to interact with various levels of stakeholder.
*Produce and maintain high quality documentation that supports the needs of other project functions such as architecture, development, testing and support
