An opportunity to join a privately owned multi-brand retailer. The future looks exciting, with entrepreneurial drive, fresh challenges, new ideas and bold plans ahead. Growth plans include new channels to market and International expansion. As part of its next phase of growth and in order to accomplish its ambitious plans across each of its portfolio businesses, it will be imperative that a robust financial management strategy is also in place and it is therefore now looking to strengthen the senior team with a new Group Chief Finance Officer for the Group.

A main Board Director, this person will report directly to the Group Chief Executive and will also have significant dealings with the owner and Chairman. This is a newly created role identified as pivotal in supporting the Group and individual companies developing and implementing new strategies to take the Group forward. In addition, this role will bring specialist functional skills to the Group as a whole; enhancing its current financial management processes and driving best practice across all business units, identifying future opportunities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the creation and delivery of the wider business agenda. He/she will support the Group Management Board and partner with the CEO in ensuring there is alignment on strategic vision, coupled with a strong sense of shared purpose in how the business moves forward. The candidate will balance the commercial environment with entrepreneurial flair, inspiring a can-do attitude within a fast paced environment. Headquartered in South West London, each business has its own standalone, commercial infrastructure and the Group has recognised the need to encourage greater connectivity to ensure significant operating synergies between them.

The CFO will also play a key role in the future development of the Group, working closely with the CEO and Chairman to develop growth strategies through both organic expansion and potential acquisitions; the CFO will play a key role in the risk analysis and due diligence of speculative ventures.

While candidates should demonstrate excellent technical breadth across all areas of operational finance, those whose careers encompass exposure to other operating functions are of particular interest, especially in management of IT, property and projects as well as corporate and commercial due diligence.
