Summary

The Business Manager has a broad spread of operational responsibilities for the UK HR platform.
Building consultative relationships with Business Partners, Specialists and Senior HR Management across the UK to deliver solutions for local requirements whilst adherring to global guidelines / governance.
Working with senior stakeholders to ensure that:
*headcount and budgets are constructed and then monitored regularly
*risks are monitored and reported effectively
*relationships with other control functions including Audit and Compliance are developed

Main Responsibilities

RISK MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE
*Primary contact for liaison with the Audit and Compliance departments including managing any HR-related requests sent via Compliance from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA).
*Primary contact for all risk controls (known in SG as Permanent Supervision) including responsibility for the audit system, Operational Risk and Internal Audit / Inspection missions.
*Liaise with the Operational Risk Manager (ORM) based in Paris to ensure all UK Operational Risk matters and projects are being followed for the UK. This includes meetings with the Employee Relations Manager in the UK as well as with the Paris ORM and UK Legal department.
*Responsible for overseeing the production of the monthly risk report (MIP) for HR and collating comments from across the HR function for onward distribution to senior management.
*Attend the MIP meeting each month representing the UK HR Department.

HR MANAGEMENT TEAM SUPPORT
*Follow up HR UK Budget including providing regular information to Paris regarding budgets including recruitment, headcount and other costs. Proactively alerting HR management as and when appropriate.
*Oversight of all headcount reporting to include weekly joiners/leavers, resignation follow-up and reviewing the recruitment plan and monitoring its progress against budget.
*Oversight of HR Business Continuity coordination as well as main contact with the SAFE (Security and Anti-Fraud) department for any business continuity matters in which HR should be involved.
*Working with Sourcing to oversee vendor management and regular SLA follow-up across the department.

BUDGETING, RECRUITMENT & MONITORING
*Proactively working with the HR Business Partners and Sourcing to oversee SLA and KPI assessment and value-add of onsite RPO vendor.
*Ensure the Executive Sponsorships process (and therefore our obligations under the UK’s Anti-Bribery and Corruption Act) is closely followed and monitored throughout the year.

COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING
*Primary contact for liaison with the Communications department, with responsibility to ensure that the annual HR Communications Strategy is deployed throughout the year.
*Managing the HR Portal, being responsible for ensuring the site is regularly updated and the format reflects the SG style guidelines.
*Overseeing the delivery, results analysis and action planning of the regular Employee Barometer (engagement survey).

OTHER
*Ensuring that the annual Roadmap of COO initiatives/projects is successfully achieved on time, on budget and at a consistently high standard for the UK.
*During the Annual Compensation Review (ACR), support the transversal career management initiatives including promotion process and corporate title structuring.
*Oversee the creation of the half-yearly Diversity Dashboard adding qualitative commentary for onward distribution to the UK Country Head and other senior management.
*Participate in team special projects and HR department projects as assigned.

Education

*Degree educated, ideally with a specialism in accountancy, management or HR

Past Experience

*An experienced professional who can demonstrate expertise across the areas of HR relevant to the role.
*Likely to be at VP or Director level (or equivalent) already.
*Demonstrable knowledge of the UK regulatory and legal environment – crucial for representing the UK HR department in UK committees.
*Experience (ideally in different environments) of consistently delivering relevant and effective solutions.
*An advantage to have experience in a Financial institution or, at the very least, an organisation that requires tailored solutions to be delivered quickly.
