It’s the best time of the year to plan your outdoor events with friends and family, although there is no guaranteed sun, London is offering a whole heap of fantastic outdoor activities to take part in.
Ride London
An eight-mile loop takes place around central London. The roads are closed to regular traffic so that bike enthusiasts can get a clear run of it. The cycle takes place on August 1st and enables cyclist of all ages and abilities to take a safe spin around town. It costs nothing to join but do register in advance on the Ride London website, many people raise money for charity on this ride, while many others come and cheer friends and family on!
Notting Hill Carnival
Europe’s biggest street carnival celebrating London’s multicultural past and present. Floats and dancing takes place with loads of music anyone is welcome and it’s free, The Carnival celebrations take over the streets of W10, west London. The nearest tube stations are Notting Hill Gate, Holland Park and Ladbroke Grove.

Africa at Spitalfields
Join us for the August Bank Holiday, as the Spitalfields Traders Market is transformed to bring you Africa at Spitalfields, a new shopping experience, celebrating the vibrant African culture and showcasing the talents from Africa and the Diaspora in the UK. The day will to include an array of stalls of African Music, Film, Fashion, Interiors, Street Food, Art, crafts and Literature.
You’ll be greeted by the aroma of sweet smelling African street food, traditional African dancers, the distinctive sounds of Djembe drummers and you can try braiding and face painting for the kids or big kids.
More than a conventional market, Africa at Spitalfields is an interactive shopping experience about bringing together the community young, old, families, students & adults, and is a perfect environment for stall holders and those that that have a general interest to connect with one another.
