This season, swimwear is about being both flattering to the body and fun to wear! Designers are playing with many styles ranging from traditional to modern, varied shapes, lengths and patterns for every body type, giving you a luxury of choosing between trends that work for your body type, personal style and that makes a statement!
One Piece
One-piece bathing suits have made a huge splash for summer 2013. If you are not ready to bare it all in a skimpy bikini, you could opt for an elegant and chic one-piece. Sexy doesn’t mean more skin show. The one piece swimsuits come with graphic designs, cut outs, color blocking details. A cutout one piece is a great mix of sexy and edgy, especially if you’re looking at getting some fun tan lines.
Fringe
To get a flirty feel to your bikinis, the fringed bikinis are the way to go. Fringes give your bikini a drastically different look. It creates an illusion of curves if you have a boyish figure. It adds volume and gives you a lot of movement, which makes it a fun pick for the season.
Bow
Embrace summer romance in this girlish hue. Bows are the feminine detail that we are everywhere this season. They can be used on tops in the front or on the bottoms in the back. So go ahead and be playful and provocative!
Balconette
The first balconette was designed in 1938 in the United States and has become a classic style. A balconette swimsuit can provide necessary support if you have a larger bust. For smaller chests, the balconette also works wonders in making you seem fuller than you are.
High Waist
High-waisted bikinis are making a major come back this season. The vintage retro looks are being carried over from last season. Reminiscent of such great icons in the 1950’s, Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly. They come with high waist bottoms, polka dots, different prints and colors. These swimsuits are very sexy, feminine and give you that curvaceous look. Pair them with big, round sunglasses and a wide-brim sun hat to go completely retro on the beach.
