To maintain accounting records and assist with the production of timely, accurate and effective management and statutory reporting.

To actively seek to improve operational efficiencies within the process, control, review and reporting function of the Financial Accounting Team.

Major responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Maintenance of accounting records for Global operations and provide assistance to Financial Accountant-International in the production of management accounts including journal processing of monthly office returns, reimbursement of funds, accruals and prepayment adjustments, review of intercompany and other processes required at the month end
  • Provide assistance in the maintenance of Sun Ledger structure for all Overseas databases to ensure efficient processing and reporting of the Overseas Subsidiaries’ assets and financial position on a monthly basis
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations in line with the timetable and resolve issues in timely manner
  • Support the Financial Accountant-International and Reporting Manager-International to develop and execute business process streamlining projects, ensuring compliance with the Overseas Network Control Framework (ONCF)
  • Liaise with third party service providers, internal and external auditors (including local auditors for overseas subsidiaries), actuaries, tax department, market reporting and key stakeholders
  • Provide assistance in the Corporation’s budget and forecast exercises
  • Provide assistance with project work on department issues, as required
  • Provide cover for other members of the Financial Accounting Team, as necessary
  • Provide assistance to Financial Accountant-International and Accounting Manager-Corporation with ad-hoc tasks, as required
  • Assistance to Financial Accountant-International with the timely production of statutory accounts for International office networks to ensure accurate reporting and timely completion for submission to regulatory authorities and for purposes of consolidation into the group annual, interim and quarterly financial reports
