The first Grand Women’s Summit (GWS) will be held on Ladies Day of the Crabbies Grand National Meeting at Aintree Racecouse, Friday 10 April 2015. Hosted by Women in Racing and Aintree Racecourse.
The Crabbie’s Grand National festival provides a global sporting forum to bring together and celebrate Women in horseracing, sport, businsess. 100 + guests will be provided with an informative and tangible educational, career and networking opportunity, whilst experiencing one of the largest horseracing festivals in the world.
The summit will be held in the exclusive private facility in The Red Rum Garden and will be available to delegates in the morning for the Grand Women Summit which will run from 8.15am until 10am followed by a course walk by Ladies Day Ambassador, Katie Walsh. The private facility will also be available for delegates to enjoy during the afternoon’s racing and will include a cash bar.
A panel discussion will kick off the event focussing on gender balance in sport and horseracing, as well the career paths of each panellist. The four panelists are confirmed as; Britain’s greatest ever gymnast and now business woman Beth Tweddle MBE, Rose Paterson, Chairman of Aintree Racecourse, Dr Denise Barrett-Baxendale MBE, CEO of Everton Football Club (EFC) in the Community and Deputy CEO of EFC and British Horseracing Authority (BHA) Chairman, Steve Harman.
Furthermore, Women In Racing will be making a (or several) special bursary award/s at this event. Members of Women in Racing can apply for an award of up to £2,000 to help support their career development within horseracing.
