Day One: Top tips to reduce your risk of breast cancer | Breast Cancer Prevention Week

Breast Cancer Prevention Week

One in eight women in the UK will develop breast cancer at some point in their life.

One in five will be under 50 years old.

These are shocking statistics but what can we do about this?

Science tells us that more than one in four breast cancer cases are preventable and Breast Cancer UK is working hard to help women make changes to their habits to create a happier healthier lifestyle, free from breast cancer and other long term illnesses.

What we eat, drink, do and the products we use all impact our health. Avoiding certain chemicals and making changes to our lifestyle can help reduce your risk.

Breast Cancer UK is running their annual Prevention Week from 17 to 23 September 2018 to help you make that change.

A week of practical tips and solutions to help you form healthy habits, along with guest blogs from a range of experts in the fields of lifestyle and the environment.

Breast Cancer UK is the only UK charity to campaign for the prevention of breast cancer by reducing risk.  In addition to practical tips they campaign for changes in public health policies and fund scientific research into the causes of breast cancer.  They do not receive any government funding and their work is supported through the generous donations and fundraising efforts of their supporters.
