The Senior Manager, Europe Communications, is a position created to significantly enhance Lloyd’s ability to engage effectively with our key audiences in the region (brokers, coverholders, cedants, insureds , capital providers, and the media and trade associations).
This role will develop regional communications strategies based on audience insight and evidence of what works, then secure buy in and implement via a combination of on and offline channels. And then deliver communications activity to directly support the successful delivery of Lloyd’s business strategy in Europe , with the ultimate aim of increasing the amount of business that Lloyd’s writes from the region.
What Will You Do?
*Work with the Head of Marketing & Communications, Head of Europe , International Communications Senior Manager and Lloyd’s representatives in the region to create commercial regional communications strategies to support Lloyd’s business development plans for Europe .
*Implement the strategy by delivering multi-channel communications campaigns, supported by the External Comms and Marketing teams.
*Build a detailed understanding of Lloyd’s Europe audiences and the best communications channels to engage with them effectively. Plug this intelligence into all planning and delivery.
*Develop Lloyd’s representatives as spokespeople in Europe , in collaboration with the International Communications Senior Manager and Media Relations Senior Manager.
*In partnership with the Media Relations Senior Manager, advise Lloyd’s senior team, including Chairman, Chief Executive and International Director on regional media handling.
*Work with the Media Relations team to consistently identify opportunities and generate media coverage regionally.
*Work closely with the External Comms and Marketing teams to ensure an increased level of relevant and engaging content to showcase the strengths and expertise of the Lloyd’s market and support the work of the Corporation across digital channels.
*Provide timely and accurate input and feedback to Digital Marketing team to help build, improve & maintain Europe country web pages.
*Ensure delivery of high quality localised collateral to support global marketing strategy, working closely with Market Communications, External Comms and Marketing teams.
*Enhance the impact of Lloyd’s events including through close integration with other communications channels, supported by the Events team.
*Support Head of Europe and Lloyd’s senior representatives in Europe in preparing for speaking engagements.
*Prepare communications elements of programmes for Chairman, CEO and Director visits, including briefing and speeches.
*Embed robust and routine evaluation of Lloyd’s regional communications activities and acting on the findings
What You’ll Need
*An experienced communications professional, with well-rounded communications skills and a track record of delivering excellent results in the Europe region.
*An expert on the communications landscape and culture in Europe countries.
*A strategic thinker, able to see the big picture, identify links between issues, anticipate emerging opportunities and risks, and take action based on excellent judgement, planning and creativity.
*Self-starting and dynamic, someone who looks for opportunities to take the lead and to get involved in a range of communications tasks.
*Experienced in a marketing communications role for a major insurance brand.
*Used to working with and providing sound advice to senior figures, including those at the very top of an organisation.
*Well organised with excellent planning skills. Able to work autonomously when needed and under pressure, responding to changing demands and reprioritising accordingly.
*A good networker, able to quickly develop a wide internal and external network of contacts in the Corporation of Lloyd’s, the insurance market and the media, and establish trust.
*Collaborative and consultative.
*Dedicated, hard-working and committed to delivering the best possible results.
*Able to work closely with colleagues across time zones and territories.
*Willing to travel regularly within the Europe region.
*Fluent in English plus German or French. Command of other European languages particularly Italian and Spanish would be very advantageous
