Main Purpose of the Role:

The Service Transition Manager will help facilitate the process for transitioning and releasing new or amended services into Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Comprehensive knowledge of Service Transition and Release Management and its role in the IT Development life cycle
* Ability to organise self and others including effective scheduling, prioritisation and time management skills, completing tasks to tight deadlines. Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude
* A proven track record of knowing what it takes to provide a consistently first class customer service internally and/or externally
* Create and manage OAC’s (operational acceptance criteria) / run books in relation to new services being transitioned/ released into Operations and for changes to current services
* To produce and maintain the supporting documentation and procedures to the Service Handover process
* Manage communication throughout Operations to maintain the required levels of understanding and knowledge on new and existing projects and their current status
* Work closely with Operations Management to ensure a smooth and seamless hand over of new services into the Support Services Department.
* Ability to build effective working relationships (Internally/Externally), establishing credibility amongst a wide and demanding client group
* Comfortable taking ownership for own work, identifying the need for action (using initiative) whilst working effectively within a team
* Monitoring and enforcement of the established Service Transition and Release Management processes and policies
* Working closely with the Project managers and third parties to ensure that Service Transition Management criteria is met
* Co-ordinating and follow-up of application release activities
* Co-ordinating and follow-up of pre-release parallel runs and user testing
* Maintenance and publishing of Service Transition metrics
* Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous eye for identifying inconsistencies / in accuracies
* Demonstrable evidence of interpreting and manipulating data clearly and accurately with the ability to extract and clearly articulate key points
* To ensure that the required prerequisites are made available to the appropriate support personnel in advance, including Technical Specs and designs, Technical documentation and users literature, hardware and software required by the support teams to provide adequate and acceptable levels of support.
* Assist in carrying Operation Readiness Testing and signoff as required by the Transition/Release Manager

Skills Required:

* Experience of Working in a Support Environment (Retail and E-commerce)
* Experience in implementing new products
* Knowledge of ITIL
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong organisational and PM skills
* Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
