Hands On Programme Manager required by Ladbrokes on a permanent basis, to be based at their Head Office situated in North West London.

Main Purpose of the Role:

As a senior member of the IT delivery team, this role is accountable for planning and managing the solution delivery and support operations of IT for the International division. Critical to this role is a solid understanding of the industry and IT, plus experience of managing all aspects of an international IT operation.
The role is primarily hands-on, focused on technical account management and supported by a strong Partner and internal matrix-based IT organisation. The primary responsibilities are to ensure the international business strategy is supported with IT deliveries on time and on budget, that IT service level targets are met, International operations are not disrupted and to ensure there is optimal alignment between the International business and IT colleagues.
In addition the role comprises an essential customer relationship management aspect for both IT and business domains in all territories where Ladbrokes has an existing presence (or is considering an opportunity to expand). Main International territories include; Spain, Belgium, Australia, Republic of Ireland and China with additional presence in USA, Mexico and Denmark.
This role engages regularly with leaders in key areas and reports on all aspects of solution delivery and operation to various stakeholders including International territory leads, the Head of Product Engineering and International IT and, as required, to the International & Group Strategy Director.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage International IT delivery and service sourced from Partner and matrixed teams ensuring that International is given suitable priority in roadmaps, planning and operations
* Oversee a portfolio of technical projects, ensuring they are correctly resourced and delivered on time and within budget
* Ensure technical solutions are architecturally fit for purpose and strategically aligned to both IT standards and International business direction
* Build strong communication channels at all levels of the organisation, set realistic expectations, and provide clear status communications
* Manage key improvement initiatives and projects
* Provide regular updates to stakeholders on operational issues and drive service improvement plans to prevent incident recurrence with relevant Support Teams. In some cases this will require working out of normal office hours
* Analyse new products and data feeds by partnering with the business development teams, suppliers and technical teams
* Provide routine management reporting on the international business and future opportunities
* Publish recommendations, business cases and action plans based on data
* Provide proactive leadership around international IT architecture, planning, roadmaps and execution
* Provide contract management and negotiation skills to ensure effective use is made of procured skills and products within the best possible financial models
* Manage and track budgets against projects and general International IT expenditure to support the Head of Product Engineering and International IT and as required, the International Finance Director

Skills Required:

Required:
* Technical Account Management or delivery experience within a fast moving information-intensive sector
* The successful candidate must have held a number of senior delivery and/or operational positions within a medium to large organization
* A background in IT or a commercial organization with IT experience. Significant experience managing stakeholders up to and including senior managers and occasionally Board Directors
* Proven track record in delivering service improvements
* Demonstrable experience influencing at a senior level, which builds collaborative and trusted internal networks that achieve strategic goals
* A track record providing leadership in delivery and operations. Retail e-commerce experience and knowledge
* Good understanding of technical design and solution building Strong problem-solving and service orientation
Desirable:
* Professional project management qualifications such as: APMP/PRINCE2/Scrum Master
* A strong passion for Sport and the Gaming sector
* International experience in regulated markets is highly desirable
* Experience of working with International Partnerships or Joint Ventures
* Solid understanding and hands on experience of integration architecture in an enterprise environment
