The Events and Roadshows team is part of SG CIB Communication. The overall role of this corporate function is to define and implement the communication strategy on behalf of the Bank’s Executive Committee, business lines, resources and regions, combining specialist knowledge and client proximity with a team of professionals worldwide.
Socit Gnrale Corporate & Investment Banking Communications is organised around four activities

– Media Relations
– Advertising and Branding
– Events and Roadshows

Role summary
With a proven record in developing effective events programmes, you are detail-oriented and thrive under pressure. You have a passion for event logistics and tactics.

You will have a real understanding of, and interest in, Investment Banking and Capital Market activities, where you will proactively advise and plan event programmes for our internal clients.

Based in London, you will cover a large range of events, from Internal to External events across the CEEMEA region but with a priority for UK based events.

You will be project managing events either on a solo basis or in conjunction with the events team members in London and the rest of Europe.

The scope of responsibility includes planning, co-ordination and execution of those events in alignment and supporting the corporate strategy and business priorities of Socit Gnrale Corporate & Investment Banking.

Main responsibilities

  • To implement the event plan for each business lines in accordance with the defined communication plan,
  • To oversee event production and logistics from development of content, promotions, presentations, graphics/multimedia and other event-related marketing materials, to technical projects, such as audio/video production, lighting, and staging.
  • To update the events database and other online marketing tools accordingly,
  • To work alongside communication teams in the UK and across Europe,
  • To constantly improve and offer ideas to streamline events management processes,
  • To ensure that events are in line with the company strategy and reflect the company values,
  • To work with suppliers, developing and enhancing relationships to provide value for money events,
  • To source and research suitable venues for events and carry out site inspections when necessary,
  • To attend and manage events on site when necessary,
  • To administer the events budget, implement cost-cutting and undertake project work where necessary,
  • To organise and produce debrief memo for each event and help measuring ROI for each event,
  • To work with various in-house support functions (legal, internal creative studio, procurement, accounts) to ensure a strong alignment to internal guidelines and policies.

Nature of events covered in Socit Gnrale Communication scope:
For all events:

  • Research and present project to decision makers
  • Arrange Invitation within SG CIB corporate guidelines
  • Follow-up of staffs and clients attendance
  • Prepare and confirm budget within internal or external events guidelines
  • Arrange post-mortem of each event

Centralising all aspects of the event including the above and:
• Confirm senior management availability
• Arrange logistic and centralise documents for the events

Centralising all aspects of the conference including the above and:
• Coordinate workshop/panel participation with internal speakers
• Arrange 1/1s with senior management, research, clients
• SG CIB representation on site: booth, marketing material, staff attendance

Support sales teams and RM’s to promote SG CIB products to our clients

  • Organise product seminars (which are more targeted and more efficient in direct business terms than sponsored),
  • Organise Client Conferences in targeted countries

Support research and Economist teams to promote SG Cross Asset Research expertise to our clients

Create occasions (Sports/Cultural/Social) for the sales teams and RM to meet key clients in a more relaxed atmosphere.

  • Source new ideas to differentiate Socit Gnrale from its competitors,
  • Maximise opportunities in the main areas of sponsorship chosen by Socit Gnrale.

• University degree or equivalent experience.

Past experience
• Experience in Events management role
• Good relationship skills needed.
• Ability to working and organise events from beginning to end
• Fast and dynamic mind are needed.
• Events management and a good understanding of marketing principles needed.
• Exceptional budget management, negotiation, and organisational skills.
