societe_general_logo_1919Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed a number of individual and team-based financial targets, including NBI, GOI, liquidity contribution and mandate penetration
  • Enforce a strict discipline with regard to the product offer and pricing matrix
  • Knowledge of markets, products and rules governing advice (investment management, wealth planning, banking, credit, and capital markets)
  • Strong knowledge and discipline relating to risk management, compliance, AML and regulatory procedures
  • Actively involved in developing and maintaining client relationships, both individually and as part of a team
  • Main clients focus: Mass affluent, often with potential for growth or cross-selling
  • The jobholder may be expected to provide coaching and guidance to develop the assistants in their team.
  • Work effectively and successfully within the team and corporate framework

Among his/her responsibilities, the job holder commits to fully respecting SG Policies and Procedures defined locally, at PRIV and at Group Level, in order to control operational risks:

  • Respect of local SGPBH procedures and relevant regulations
  • Application of SG Code of conduct
  • Application of IMMUNE and FORCE rules

He / she must seek advice from his/her management in case of doubt

Operational:

  • In-depth product knowledge and excellent sales and relationship management skills.
  • Manages and targets clients and key relationships.
  • Advising across a broad range of products and services
  • Knowledge of regulations applying to the bank, its staff and our clients
  • Good knowledge of the wider SG Group
  • Client development and retention capabilities
  • Knowledge of internal risk management, compliance, AML procedures and constant vigilance in respect of them

Management:

  • Management of other team members as required
  • The Senior Private Banker may provide training and guidance to more junior staff, also including formal supervisory responsibilities as required

Qualifications Required:

For the UK: An appropriate FSA RDR compliant qualification of at least QCF level 4 but preferably level 6

The Approved Persons Regime and its implications

The position outlined in this job description constitutes a controlled function requiring specific FSA approval under section 59 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. This particular position is defined as “CF30” and as such the holder must ensure that their personal conduct complies in all respects with the FSA Principle for Approved Persons and related Code of Practices for Approved Persons. FSA registration will require the job holder to obtain and maintain registration in accordance with the SGPB Hambros Training and Competence Scheme.
