Oversee structured finance coverage for IFR – print magazine and real-time operation.
Based in London, the structured finance editor is a key role in the wider IFR credit market operation, in addition to the product vertical. Structured finance is a fundamental part of the fixed income space – volumes have rebounded strongly in the US and it is an area of high profile regulatory focus for the provision of credit in Europe.
Job Description
This editor runs the IFR asset-backed securitisation real-time product, on Eikon, newsletters and pulls together the global weekly magazine print operation which is published in London. Contributes to the wider credit team, editing, commissioning and writing articles.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactive and competent approach to generating real-time structured finance credit market content written for expert and non-expert clients.
  • Directly managing a reporter in London, as well as liaising with editors and reporters at IFR in London, Asia and New York.
  • Ensuring a daily flow of information on new issue news, pricing and market moves is covered efficiently and in timely fashion.
  • Breaking news for the real-time credit service on IFR Markets platform.
  • Exercising sound news judgement, establishing and maintaining close contact with bankers, traders and investors.

Qualifications

Essential skills
  • Experience of reporting, research or market experience covering or working in the credit market. A thorough knowledge and understanding of securitisation markets.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Extensive network of sources in the structured finance market both on the sellside and buyside.
  • Solid organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable sills
  • Foreign languages, especially continental European such as Spanish, French, Italian or German
  • BA/BS degree, Masters preferred (MBA, Economics, Journalism)
