It’s coming to the end of British Wool Week and that gives us a chance to talk about one of our greatest passions – wool! At NOOSHIN we are incredibly passionate about wool and using it in all our garments over synthetic fibres. So why do we love wool so much? Here are our top 4 reasons:
Did you know that wool fibre can be bent 20,000 times without breaking? This quality provides wool with a remarkable ability to stretch and recover. Because of this wool garments can last for years, making them a valuable long-term investment in your wardrobe. Dyed wools are also colourfast so there is much less risk of your garment losing its colour over time.
Wool has a large capacity to absorb moisture – up to 30% of its own weight. This quality allows it to absorb perspiration, making it extremely breathable. Merino wool – which is used in our garments – is also active, reacting to changes in your body temperature. This means that merino wool keeps you warm when it is cold while releasing heat when it is hot.
It is a vital quality of a good dress or suit that it fits and flatters you and there is no fabric better for the job than wool. The elasticity of merino wool means the fabric will stretch with the wearer but will return to its natural shape when placed back into the wardrobe. As a result there is no risk of stretching and sagging.
Next time you’re on the train to work and grabbing your morning latte in your local coffee shop, take a look around. You can tell when someone’s suit is made out of a good quality wool. It just looks amazing. It is a sure-fire way to look your best in the office. And it feels just as good to wear!
So when you are looking for your next dress or suit it is worth reviewing what fibre the garment is made from. For a breathable garment that flatters and is made to last, then wool really is the best option. All of our garments are made from 100% wool produced by Savile Row clothiers Holland and Sherry. It is their passion that got us excited about wool in the first place and they produce a truly stunning cloth, click here for more information.
