Tuesday 30 June at the Comedy Store London | Honouring the legacy of Jo Fletcher-Cross

Jo Fletcher-Cross was a long-standing non-executive board member of Funny Women CIC who died in April this year, almost four years after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Believing everybody deserves ‘a bit of glitter in their lives,’ Jo worked with Funny Women to create a legacy: The Glitter Project. This proactive initiative places comedy at the heart of communities making it accessible to those who identify as female and non-binary by inspiring creativity and building confidence.

Funny Women was born out of misogyny 24 years ago yet there is still an urgent need for ‘A Safe Place’ where women can spread their creative wings and explore how comedy and humour can empower them both professionally and personally. Funny Women wants to ensure the future of Jo’s legacy as funding for arts-based initiatives like this, particularly comedy-focused ones, is in short supply. All profits from this show will go towards funding the important work of The Glitter Project.

The show features some of the incredible business women from The Glitter Challenge and their professional comedian mentors.

Host: Lucy Ryan, best know at ‘Ivy Paige’ international showgirl

Glitter Mentors: Rachel Creeger, Pauline Eyre, Louise Leigh, Nic Lamont, AJ Stubberfield, Monica Gaga, Mariana Feijó

Glitter Challengers: Harriet Minter, Donna Easton, Nishma Patel Robb, Robin Golinski, Beverley Bunn

Headliner: Suzy Bennett, winner of the Funny Women Stage Award 2006
